old amlogic box

    I have this old kodi box from 2013 running kodi v13.2 (gotham)

    the "manufacturer" says that it can't run anything later than that

    some people recommended libreElec so here I am :)

    I am not very experienced with flashing but I read that I can boot from an SD card which should be easier to setup

    my device is AMLOGIC MESON 3 8726M (cpu=ARM v7, 4GB, 1GB ram)

    I found images in this forum for 8726MX (MX2)

    will they work for mine or am I going to brick my unit?

    You have 8726-M3 which is not compatible with 8726MX builds. As far as I know there is no community build for your CPU, at least not on this forum. :(

    do I have any other options, perhaps some other kodi distribution like libreElec that will work on my box? Or do I have to buy a new one?
