Install skin

  • Hi Community,

As the topic says I just want to install a different skin as simple as that.

I have a fresh Libreelec 8.0.2 installed and the install of a different skin (any skin) fails. I see a quick error message about dependencies.

But this is a fresh install so shouldnt this worok out of the box?

    It fails from:

    - the settings Visual menu

    - it fails to install from repository

    - it fails to install from ZIP file.

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks

  • I am sure you test. That is the reason I am a happy user since a couple of years.

But "something else is getting in the way" is not helping me here.

I installed Libreelec now 3 times fresh and I can install any add-on but no skins.

What is this dependencies error message?

  • I installed on 2 different Intel NUC's (1st generation and 7th generation) and the issue is the same. So hardware does not matter.

"No Kodi debug log = No problem." :) Yeah. yeah I know the drill.

I will get the log file.

Either install a real clean set up of LibreELEC, or walk away.

  • I think you have some DNS problems and your names are not resolved to ip address. This is the indication:

    Quote

URLError: <urlopen error [Errno -3] Temporary failure in name resolution>

In ssh console try this command

    Code
    ping www.google.com
  • I set the DNS servers manually to 8.8.8.8

Tried the hard reset and now the wipe and clean install.

Same results. Here I am trying to install the AEON.NOX Skin.

I asked nicely for help, so your "walk away" was not necessary.

So the next time you had a bad day and can't reply nicely to a question I suggest you "walk away".

You seem to have the wrong view on the situation. You are visiting OUR forum, so it is OUR rules on OUR software, especially the part on the piracy policy section. It's a zero-tolerance policy in case you hadn't noticed.

Actually, I don't have a bad day. If I would have a bad day, all your posts and your LibreELEC forum membership would have been wiped off this forum a long time already. So don't piss off the guy with the nuke button by telling him what to do or not to do. If you have a problem with authority, there are online help groups you can visit.
