Diskspace SD card using image

  • Hi,
i'm a newbie at LibreElec and it works great on my Raspberry Pi3 B.
Only issue i have is that after installing it using the image, my 8 GB SD Card is reduced to only 512 MB.
Is there another way i can install LibreElec so my SD Card will keep its original 8 GB?
    Thanks,
    Martin

  • LE will automatically resize your SD card on first boot. If this was interrupted then your easiest option is to reinstall LE and allow it to finish.

  • Don't bother, if it works great as you say, then everything is OK and your card has it's full 8GB capacity. The "problem" you experience is that in Windows you can see only the first partition on the SD card, which is formated in Fat32 and is 512MB in size. The rest resides on a second partition (created during installation) which you cannot see normally on a Windows machine.

Check the size of your card in LE/Kodi, and you'll see the first and second partition and their size...

    Checked and okay!
Confusing that you see only 1 partition in Windows.
Simple when you know this ;)
Thanks for the clear explanation and the quick response.

  • Confusing only because Windows is "stupid enough" to see only "Fat16/32" and "NTFS" formated partitions, and not "bright enough" to see multiple partitions on an SD card :)
Not to mention that it cannot see Linux type "ext4" formated SD card (without additional programs) and that is the format used for second partition on your SD card which is created during LE installation.
