Libreelec on a Pi3. Plugged an USD HD to be used as file server. I can read fine, but I cannot write. Tried to change the permissions with filezilla to no avail. Tried CHMOD to no avail (chmod: Movies: Read-only file system) - HD is formatted FAT.
Please help!

I don't think that CHMOD works on FAT systems. Use EXT4 if you want extended features like CHMOD en CHOWN. It also supports read & write by default.

The HD isn't formatted FAT but HFS+ with journalling:Code/dev/sda2 on /var/media/Filmes type hfsplus (ro,nosuid,nodev,noexec,noatime,umask=22,uid=0,gid=0,nls=utf8)
Code[ 8.425261] hfsplus: write access to a journaled filesystem is not supported, use the force option at your own risk, mounting read-only.
You either have to disable the journal (there should be some option to do that on a mac) or format the HD in ext4, FAT or NTFS.so long,

If you want fast file-copy speeds you'll need to format as ext4 (kernel driver) from within LE or anothe Linux install, but ext4 is not be readable on Mac or Windows. If you want cross-platform support use exFAT, which will be slower for file-copy (as it uses a FUSE userspace driver) but can be connected and read on any OS.
