PVR with tvheadend freezes Kodi when watching live TV or recordings and VAAPI is enabled. There is a TRAC ticket here #17138 (PVR freezes kodi if VAAPI is enabled)
– Kodi - TRAC , but FernetMenta said LibreElec contains patches that break this :s
Logs are all in the Ticket, tell me if I can provide you with more!

How long does it take to freeze? the log is just damn long. so it would be nice, if it freezes fast, to reproduce your issue and provide a new and shorter log.
you know that you have banned repos and addons installed? we have seen those causing the weirdest problems. so i would spend a thought to remove them first and try again with a clean kodi.

It ranges from a couple of minutes to half an hour. This one should be rather short, its from beta5 though. The issue remains the same. ScgM
I can try without addons, I can't see why a not used addon should produce a problem with hardware decoding though I know... the rules...

7.90.008could you try a newer beta please?
I'll try to reproduce later at home.

Here is a log where the freeze occurs after some minutes. Addons disabled. LE 7.90.009
WJRM
The freeze happens at 14:03:47.034
SD channel, the picture freezes but the audio continues for a couple of seconds, then Kodi freezes completely. -
I have been running kodi on ubuntu live for an hour now and still didn't come accross a freeze, this might be a Libreelec problem, here is a log: Ubuntu Pastebin
Here is also the freeze from a fresh install: CibH
Ans this one from a live image: XFIL -

Can you update to 7.90.010 and try again?
-
Can you update to 7.90.010 and try again?I will try "next year" when I'm back at my system. fritsch also provided a build with downgraded kernel, I can try that too.
In the meantime happy holidays -
Here is the freeze with alpha 10 and a recording: VMUE
I tried it 2 times, it always froze at the same time (right at the beginning)As you can see in the TRAC ticket, fritsch is suspecting a kernel bug and supplied a version wich works (so far) for me. Log is in the ticket.

you can also test Sendspace.com Mobile File, LE with latest Intel drivers
you need to create a file with name .nocompat at the update folder (if not no update will happen because it is for Intel only) -
Hi, please enable in system settings - diagnose debuge for module video.
Please also test recorded file localy - not over LiveTV (htsp) just from video -> files -> dir to recorded file -
Packet backlog in tvheadend settings is off.
With the latest intel drivers I get a kernel panic on boot. (I copied the KERNEL & SYSTEM files to an installation stick from alpha 10 and typed live at the promt)
Here is a log from alpha 10 and playing the file directly: SfUD
freezes at the same time. Video component logging is enabled by default. -
Hi thanks, please upload somewhere some samples from your recording, thx
-
The recording has 7 GB, I tried to create a sample file using mkvmerge and "head -n 50000 file.mkv >> sample.mkv" but they both did not provoke the error...
-
Is there anything more I can do? I would be glad to try another intel build
-
Same thing happens with the newest BETA 1 build.
-
Same with BETA 2, aMTI
Can anyone please help me with this, it seems like the problem was already localized by fritsch (kernel regression). I would be glad to try some builds and help solving this problem...
Maybe someone can also move this to bug reports.
