Deinterlacing Section in Wiki is outdated?

  • The deinterlacing section on the 4K / HDR page of the wiki says that for interlaced content Kodi will not do the proper rate doubling without removing the original frame rate from the whitelist.

I think this may be outdated and no longer correct?

I am playing 480i29.97 content today and the output is 1080 @ 59.94, even though 1080 @ 29.97 is still in the whitelist.

    Yes, interlaced is always doubled.

For this rate doubling to work, we need to ensure the whitelisted 1080p modes do not contain 1080p @ 25/29.97/30Hz rates, else Kodi will see an exact match against resolution and refresh rate and you will see high CPU loads and 50% of frames being dropped.

As far as I remember that was true for Generic-X11 (Legacy).
