[RPi5][LibreELEC v12.0.2] Frequent crashes when files are playing from pm4k add-on

  • Hello LibreELEC experts!

I'm currently encountering some issues with my Raspberry Pi 5 running LibreELEC 12.0.2 crashing. The issue seems to be restricted to certain files being played from a local Plex server via the pm4k (plexmod for Kodi) add-on. The device crashes/becomes unresponsive after 1 or 2 episodes are played. Enabling debug logging seems to accelerate the issue, only a minute or two of an episode will play before the same crashing behavior.

SSH is unresponsive, so I've attached the file from ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.old.log, rather than running pastekodi to get the file from ~/.kodi/temp/kodi.log

I've checked through logs for the Plex Media Server and the Kodi logs when enabling the verbose logging for the pm4k add-on, but I wasn't able to find any clues about the cause of the issue from those logs.

Let me know if I can provide any further information. If I need to post this in another topic or forum, don't hesitate to tell me so!

  • You didn't read the forum rules. Remove all banned add-ons and repos. Post another log, if the issue remains afterwards.

  • Understood, I've created that file, added the flag for log level 1 and I'm attempting to reproduce the crash.

One other note, I've notice a message in the journalctl -a -b -0  section of the log when running pastekodi that had a warning about undervolting. I was originally using a 10W power supply, and I've changed that to a 20W power supply now. Wanted to mention that in case that solves the issue.

Running with an inadequate power supply (that the undervolting lines prove) can certainly cause random crashes.
