NextPVR won't update EPG data

  • I've been having an incredibly frustrating problem that I can't seem to figure out.

I'm running a Raspberry Pi 5 with LibreELEC.

I've been using the NextPVR server and client to import IPTV channels and guide data from my computer. I've compiled a custom playlist and have acquired xmltv EPG files for most of the channels.

The problem I'm running into is that when I log into the web interface for NextPVR I cannot get it to update the guide.

I've imported my playlist, in m3u8 format, and all my channels show up in LibreELEC just fine.

But when I import an xmltv file and assign it to various channels, it won't pull in guide data.

When I go to "About" and click "Update EPG" it says:

"EPG Update complete. [0 inserted, 0 updated, 238 skipped]"

It can see the file but it just won't insert any of the data. I've tried a couple dozen different xmltv files, hosted locally and online.

I should also mention that it was working a couple of weeks ago. I don't know what changed to prevent EPG data from uploading.

I've tried clean installing LibreELEC multiple times and can't seem to change this behavior.

    Any ideas?

  • When I see this "EPG Update complete. [0 inserted, 0 updated, 238 skipped]" it seems that

    1) the source is not very complete, typically PVR will have more than 238 shows but it shows that the guide is being updated.

    2) your XMLTV file is stale. Typically this happens when you point to a local file that you aren't updating correctly. If it is online your source is probably just bad. It could also mean that the guide data matches the m3u file.

Feel free to post your zipped NextPVR logs on the NextPVR forum and we can have a look.
