Weak WIFI 5G signal

    I have several RPi4 Pi's. All are running LE 12.0.2. Three are on WIFI and one on ethernet. Two of the pi's are 2.4G while a one is 5G. The 5G is a mere 10~15' from the AP. In the same room. No obstruction.

    When I look at the signal strength of the 5G in my router, I see "Good", whereas the other two that are on the 2.4G are "Excellent". If I try to play a HD movie from my NAS the 5G pi, is very slow and after a couple of seconds the movie just hangs. The 2.4G pi's, the movie cache's every couple of seconds.

    In the past, on previous versions of LE, I used the network-tools addon to adjust the frequency and improve the signal, but that does not seem to be working with LE 12.0.2. I can use iwlist to display the channel/frequency and I thought that I was using iwconfig to set or change the channel/frequency, but that is not working. I change the channel, but when I display it again, I'm not seeing any change.

    Any suggestions?

    RPi boards simply have rubbish wireless. Use Ethernet. Use an WiFi bridge device that presents Ethernet. Use external dongles with a proper antenna. In short, do anything except try to make the internal WiFi work.
