configuration questions

  • Now the Pi5 is running with LibreElec  i would like to ask some questions :

    - if i want to check or adjust my nvme settings , bootorder code etc, were do i go to :

    With nano ? to:

    - the flash/config.txt file (not much info in it at the moment) or do i have to go an rpi-eerom-config file ?

i would like to test also if the nvme drive does have the right speed now. If it is functions as a gen 2, 3 or 4 ssd nvme.

The difference between config.txt and eeprom is difficult to comprehend ||

    Thanks again

  • I'm running an NVME drive on my own RPi5 and the speed difference over a fast SD card is not some "oh wow, that's so amazingly fast" gain, it's a more marginal improvement. The difference between gen2 and gen3 speeds is even more marginal and if you are perceiving there's a difference I'd argue it's more placebo effect than something you can see/feel in the user experience. If you do want to test things, iPerf can be installed from one of the tools add-ons.

  • I never have used an sd card with the pi so i cannot compare. myself, but i certainly believe you.

Just want to see what speed it is and if i could adjust it to gen3 in the config file.

    thanks again !

  • i did install iperf wich is in a package from add-ons.

It measures with certain commands the network speed.

I could not find a command that does give me the speed of a certain device. Or in this case the nvme bus/device.

Does anyone know what command i should use for this ?
