Can we start wireguard service after kodi.service ?

Hello,

I've successfully set up wireguard following this guide https://wiki.libreelec.tv/configuration/wireguard.

However in the documentation, the wireguard service is set to start before kodi.service. Could it start after kodi.service ? Because I noticed that if my vpn connection could not be established (for many reasons) the device will be stuck at boot with libreelec logo. Although I need that vpn connection to watch some of my medias it is not mandatory, I also have other medias on local storage. It should not block the whole device to start.

Yes. Don't use /storage/.config/system.d/wireguard.service, and write a start script at /storage(.config/autostart.sh instead. So you can use that script to check VPN connectivity before starting WireGuard.

After=network-online.target nss-lookup.target wait-time-sync.service connman-vpn.service
Before=kodi.service

You are free to change anything you want.

You may consider removing wait-time-sync.service, this unconditionally wait until network is usable. The already included network-online.target is doing similar but with a network timeout defined in LibreELEC-Settings. The default 10sec may be too less, increase it at least to 30-60sec.

Also I've noticed that when i resume from suspended mode, the wireguard interface is not mounted anymore. Do you have script to launch when device resumes from suspended mom ?

Information about /storage/.config/.sleep.d/*.power scripts got lost over time.

On my long time installed system there is still the sample file (not functional):

Bash: /storage/.config/sleep.d/99-sample.power.x

     ;;

     ;;

Matches can be found by using the forum search.

There is no details for scripts at "resumed" state.

Finally, I managed to do it by creating another .service unit file with WantedBy=suspend.target

it relaunches my vpn connection everytime i resumed from suspended mode.

Can we start wireguard service after kodi.service ?
