[x86-64] Only Getting Audio at 44.1kHz Sampling Rate

  • Just another case to confirm the same situation:

G5500+H310M+4GRAM+HDMI with version 12.0.1 (I also tested version 11), no sound is played for most videos untill I follow this thread, seting fixed+44.1 is the only way to have sound.

    But another interesting thing is:

when I set GUI resolution to 1080P, both the GUI and video sound disappears even the "fixed+44.1" is set.

  • I am not sure the cable version, the TV is old so I assume it HDMI v1.4, Any way to verify the version of a cable?

Check online order histories and invoices.

Background: Fixed sampling rate means reduced data rate over HDMI. If your cable is HDMI 1.4, then you don't get the shielding of HDMI 2.0 / 2.1, which can result in data loss (A/V loss).

It could also be the specs of your TV. If it has HD Ready (720p) resolution, and can only play 44.1kHz audio, then everything works as expected. In that case you don't need an HDMI 2.0 / 2.1 (4K) cable.
