What is the easiest way make a bootable installer DVD (not flash drive) for LibreELEC?

  • I have an old but cool HTPC I'd like to install a linux HTPC distro on. Only problem is that it seems unable to boot from a USB flash drive. It has a built-in DVD player that I am able to boot and run the debian installer from. Is there a way to create a bootable LibreElec ISO easily?

    Thanks!

  • You can

    a) Move the HD to another PC, install LE and swap back.

    b) Boot debian to live system or rescue shell, insert LE install stick, run blkid or lsblk to identify drives, copy the stick to HD with dd if=/dev/sdX of=/dev/sdY bs=64K and choose run on first boot.

    c) Install minimal debian/ubuntu ... (maybe sever without applications) on small partition and add LE.
