I've seen in old threads that in LE11 it was a known problem and that there was no solution yet, but I was wondering if there is a fix in the meantime on PI5 with LE12 ?

Hi, thank you for the suggestion but I have already tried different colors and it is still extremly bright, if the scene is not very bright (like in broad daylight) then the sub "blinds" you.

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/pull/24786 is the first step to a solution, but it's in a complex area of code where changes are slow and deliberate not rushed. This is for Kodi 'P' too (assuming its merged that fast).

any updates on this? that particular pr seems to be android only. I maually extract subtitles and modify color atm, its a PITA for sure
