WiFi with Intel Wireless-AC 8265 chip doesn't show available networks on LE Generic 11.0

  • Hi all. Thank you for awesome work on LE (I have it running on multiple devices perfectly fine, mainly RPIs). I have just installed LE Generic 11.0 on NUC (first time using NUC - NUC 7i5BNH), that has Intel Wireless-AC 8265 chip and for the first time in years I can get no WiFi networks list - nothing shows there. Forum search didn't really help. Perhaps someone could guide me how to fix the issue. It is currently on LAN connection, but I would very much like to have it using WiFi. Much appreciated.

  • I'd update to a current LE12 nightly (newer drivers and firmware) and ensure the correct wireless regdomain is configured. If no change please pastebin the system log.

  • Hi, thanks for answering

This is what the system throws at me:

    Network controller [0280]: Intel Corporation Wireless 8265 / 8275 [8086:24fd] (rev 78)

    Subsystem: Intel Corporation Wireless 8265 / 8275 [8086:9010]

    Kernel driver in use: iwlwifi

Can you please explain regdomain (or point me to where that is done or can be read about)

  • LE Settings > Networks > Wireless Regdomain (set for your country).

Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem
    4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)

use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link
  • Code
Feb 02 14:58:51.208852 calliope kernel: iwlwifi 0000:3a:00.0: Failed to start INIT ucode: -110

It's disagreeing with firmware. Update to the LE12 nightly and test again.
