I do not have a RPi5 yet.
I was wondering. Since RPi5 has a real power switch now, does that mean that a MM remote control using a wifi dongle will power the RPi5 ON and OFF like a TV?
Thanks

nope
you need a HAT or use Argon One case if you want to power on via IR Remote.
Wifi turning on is not possible nor is WOL.
I can't see anything advertised about the IR-Remote-ON at argon40 dot com.
What am I looking for to know that I am purchasing the IR-remote-ON feature?
Thanks!
the new Argon 40 case for the RPi 5 is currently sold out (Argon ONE V3). It has IR for power on the RPi 5.
Some People has problem with the Argon case for the RPi 4.
I had the Argon One for Rpi4b and it worked well for power on but it did require a lot of fiddling about with script to make it work
was not out of the box working
Nekromantik If you want to give something back to the forum, post that solution on Showcase section.

It was not something I came up with. It was posted on the Argon40 forums.
It was 3 years ago so not remember exactly what it was and no longer have the case or Rpi 4b.
OK, if power-on by IR works for you on RPi5, post that solution.
