USB Flash Drive Not Mounting In /var/media

Hi,

My USB flash drive isn't auto mounting under /var/media.

Could I please have some assistance on making my USB drive auto-mount? Thank you.

You need to repair the NTFS filesystem on a Windows box with chkdsk.exe, and then unmount cleanly and it should work.

Thanks, that worked.

(I ran chkdsk about a month ago when having issues on my other Linux machine, though failed to think that was the issue with the RaspberryPi. Something I'm learning and will be more aware of in the future).

Out of curiosity, what line/(timestamp?) in the link pasted above pointed you to the error? Something for me to remember.

In 99/100 cases when a "Windows" flavoured filesystem is being used and either won't mount or goes read-only, chkdsk.exe is the answer.

Great, thanks for all your help. Now i've got the Raspberry Pi up and running i'll be able to switch filesystems and shouldn't experience these issues anymore. Hope you have good day.
