libdsm package and libreelec

    I must admit I used to use libreelec a couple of years before my RasPi gave up - and started to use VLC/Firetv stick. Fantastic for the TV.

    I am thinking of returning back so one question. Would it be possible to add libdsm package in libreelec? https[://]bugs.launchpad[.]net/savos/+bug/2006626 (The snap version of ubuntu-VLC has this embedded inside)

    This package allows for browsing harddisk connected at router without much fiddling like password etc. If I understand correctly it allows samba/smb list all folders/files without even any uPnP or other stuff. Just directory listing. Just works for every android device in house. I would not like disturb that. Any possibility libreelec (incl. KODI) with work in this way?

    libdsm is a lightweight SMB client that VLC uses for browsing SMB shares. Kodi has an SMB client that it uses for browsing SMB shares. Kodi does not support alternatives; because there's no need for that .. it already has an SMB client. If for some reason that doesn't work you can also use kernel SMB capabilities to mount a remote filesystem to a path on the local host .. but that kind of thing is not really required as Kodi has a perfectly good SMB client.
