Create usb stick in Linux with mkusb-dus tool

  • I read everywhere that it is not possible to make a live usb in Linux, but that's not true!

With mkusb-dus v12.7.2 you can create a live usb that works fine!

  • LE has supported "live" (temp boot from USB) and "run" (persistent boot from USB) modes in the Generic/x86_64 installer for aeons. All you need to do is hit a key to interrupt boot (else it will do "install" the default) and type the alternative boot mode. There is no need to use mkusb or other tools.

  • Yep.. that's AFTER you made that live USB stick! And from what i read on different sites is that making such a stick is only supported for windows, not macOS or Linux. That's why i posted here that you can also make it with mkusb-dus.

  • Do i throw it against the pc or what?

8o you can use any img -> usb tool that run at Linux

you can even use dd to do it

I read everywhere that it is not possible to make a live usb in Linux

thats just not possible with our img->usb tool because it does not build anymore for Linux
