I'm scatter-brained... I just realized that my TV actually supports HDR! (Sony KD-55XF9005)

I changed the image to "LibreELEC-Generic.x86_64-11.0-devel-20220807005106-45816fd" and sure enough, the TV itself reports a HDR movie as such. However, I have issues with DTS audio with this build aswell, but I will see if I can find another thread for that.

What are the odds of hdr being included for x86 by default in le11?

What version of LE 11 do you recommend for an intel i5 2500k with an amd rx 460 gpu (Polaris 11)? I would love to enjoy HDR on my old computer. Thank you for your work.

Thank you SMP, and all LE contributors, for this amazing build. My only question to the forum is whether automatic whitelist switching is working for anyone? I can manually select from the whitelist. HDR files do play properly, and HDR is automatically enabled, although resolution does not change to match the file.

Hi,

I tested your build on the ASrock J4205 with a Denon x1600 and a Samsung QN95B.

HDR will be detected and picture looks great.

Only problems I discover is that I got some stutters wth DTS and passthrough and the RAR/Archive plugin seems not to work.

smp, would you happen to know how I would go about getting HDR working on Archlinux? Does the latest vanilla linux kernel release have everything we need? Is it just a matter of compiling Kodi 19 (or 20?) with Irusak's drmprime-2img-no-ffmpeg-bump changes included?

I would love to use LE, but I use my NUC for many other things that are outside of LE's scope.

Thanks for your insight. I see that Irusak's branch does not rebase cleanly onto v20 master. Before I try (and likely fail) to correctly resolve the conflicts, do you happen to have a branch that already integrates these changes?

Thanks for that. I was able to compile and run it just fine on my Tiger Lake NUC, but my LG G1 never switched to HDR mode no matter the content. As far as I know the system meets all of the requirements: kernel 5.19.7, up to date system packages, using GBM windowing, compatible cable, the "use HDR" kodi setting enabled, HDMI deep colour set to 4k (a TV setting), etc.

Not sure where to go from here, any tips?

It does for my Samsung TV, I tried several Atmos/HDR demos and all work very nicely, switching to HDR etc - I remember that was not the case for previous Feb build.

Looking at the code (as a novice) it looks for a HAS_GLES property when deciding to display the option in the UI. This property is set during compile time (??), if it finds "gl3.h". My system does have "gl3.h" as provided by the "libglvnd" package, located at "usr/include/GLES3/gl3.h". Maybe it's not finding it and I need to carefully read the output when I'm compiling.
