LibreElec freezes

  • Hi,

    I was extremely satisfied with LibreElec. Unfortumately, recently I got a lot of freezes. It happens during updating library, playing movies, but also at doing absolutely nothing.

    At first I thought it had something to do with my hardware (Intel NUC which is a bit older; from 2016). I changed the harddrive, RAM and the charger. But it still freezes.

    I made some logs, but I could not find anything that triggered the freezes.

    Do you guys have any idea?

    Many thanks in advance.

  • At first, thanks for your fast response. Really appreciate it.

    I had no idea I even had an advancesettings.xlm. I never made one. I also did a full re-install so I'm pretty sure about that.

    I just made one with nothing more than

    <advancedsettings version="1.0">

    </advancedsettings>

    Uploaded it to .kodi/userdata and /system, but it still keeps coming up in my log with the same lines as before ( https://paste.kodi.tv/ucekugikod ).

    Do you have any suggestions how to get rid of it?

    edit:

    I'm beginning to think that it must be something with the hardware as I replaced the harddrive and did a fresh install, which resulted in the same problem.

  • Thanks for testing. Then advancedsettings.xml is OK, because it's the system default variant. Maybe graphics driver issue:

    Code
    2021-11-02 13:43:13.722 T:834     ERROR <general>: libva error: /usr/lib/dri/iHD_drv_video.so init failed

    PS: Freezers seem to be a known issue on Intel N3700: Click!

    this should be fixed in more recent kernels (we already ship)

    But the issue sounds like this I think.

    Not sure what might be the solution here, maybe try an LE 11 test version if it works there ?
