Migration to Kodi 17 ALPHA - Add on migration in progress

  • Hi guys,

I am just about to migrate to Kodi v17 ALPHA - manually copied the content of the target folder to the update folder. After rebooting it took already something like 20 minutes showing the 'Add-on migration in progress - please wait' screen, and the dots at the end are flashing.

Does anyone know how long this is supposed to run or to take? Hope I am now not in a type of endless-process.

    Thanks, much appreciated!

  • Excuse me...probably I might misunderstood...but what content from which target folder did you put to the update folder?

Normally the migration is done by putting the *.tar file (as it is) to the update folder and then reboot.

If you meant that, then please tell us more from what version you want to migrate from.

  • Sorry, I thought the upgrade runs similar to OpenElec where you normally put the content of the target folder (SYSTEM and KERNEL) into the update folder? That's how I did it, then reboot.

    Hi!

I also have the problem that the screen get's more or less stuck at the add on migration progress. The dot's at the end are still moving, but I waited for 2 hours now... I can connect over ssh and see kodi.bin with a CPU of around 3% running. I am running on a raspi 3. I have a pretty big library - could this be the reason? Is this a known issue or just normal?

Oh, maybe some small info to add:

  • Same problem with migration or update file :

    LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.0.0.tar
    LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.0.0.img.gz

always message "add-on migration progress - please wait"

I update the rpi3 of my son from Librelelec to Libreelec
I migrated the rpi3 of a friend from openelec to librelec

With my sun, I took power off and rebbot and no problem
For my friend, we are always waiting but I think I will have to cut off power too.
