Upgrade from 9.2.6 to 10.0 RC1 - SMB v1 stopped working

  • Hi,

I run into some issue with after the upgrade to 10.0 RC1.

Background: I just got a new TV so I decided it would good time to break my LibreElec installation and upgrade to version 10. My version 9.2.6 was working perfectly fine. A bit about hardware.

NAS-Server: Thecus 5200 PRO (Support for only SMB1) and NFS

LibreElec: Running on a Zotac machine (Intel based system).

    Problem:

The upgrade itself went fine, no issue at all. It even upgraded the DB. My problem is the SMB shares. I use the Thecus 5200 Pro to store my personal files, videos and tv shows. Looking online I found out that the potential problem could be the lack of support for SMB 1.0. I have also option to use NFS but it seems i am setting it up incorrectly.

I am looking for a solution for this problem. I am happy to provide the exact error message but i suspect it is to do with SMB.

    Thank you

Kodi 19+ defaults to SMBv2, because the overly large security holes in SMBv1.

But you should be able to find the SMB minimum and maximum settings in the Kodi menu GUI. (Enable Advanced or Expert level first)
