4K movies

  • Hey forum

I have recently invested in my very first Pi. I seem to have problems streaming/transcoding or the like of 4K movies.

I run wireless connection to the Pi with a Ubiquiti Unifi system so I think the connection is not the problem.

It is a Raspberry Pi 4 with 4gb ram.

The NAS is a Synology DS718+ with 2 gb ram.

The drives in the NAS is two 4 TB 5400 rpm Seagate drives.

So my question to this forum is, where do I need to upgrade to get stutter free movies.

Is the Pi to weak or is the NAS to weak, or do I need to wire my internet connection to the Pi or a combination of them all?

    Hope you guys can help

  • "Stuttering" can have so many different causes. Kodi/LibreELEC does not do any transcoding, so we can rule that out for now.

If you can wire your RPi, then please do so simply to rule out wifi problems.

Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem
    4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)

use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link
