No Video on initial install on Rpi4 4GB

  • Trying to get LibreELEC Kodi (Build 9.2.6) installed on a new Rpi4 4GB. Have downleaded the latest image file for the Rpi4 3 times and flashed it to a 32gb sd using Etcher (the image writer from LibreELEC does not work on MAC OS Big Sur). When I start the Pi with the fresh sd card my HDMI monitor shows no signal and I never get video. HDMI cable is plugged into the port next to the USB C power. There is considerable activity on the Pi for a few minutes but I cannot SSH into the Pi or see what is going on. This same setup works fine on other Pis and other operating system builds on the pi. Any thoughts?

Even after reboot the result is the same with no video display.

  • I have the same problem, also running the video data from a Mac with Big Sur. The videos can be accessed and displayed through my network via another computer but on the my Raspberry 2 with LibreELEC 9.2.6 they do not start. It seems to start playing the video first but then aborts instantly. Checked with different videos/formats. Would be really thankful for a solution. Worked fine with my older Mac and Openelec before...

OpenELEC is some 5 years ago by now (I think). Time flies...

"Does not start" is a pretty generic as well as a useless description. How about a debug log for starters?

Please provide a full debug log.

How to post a log (wiki)

    1. Enable debugging in Settings>System Settings>Logging
    2. Restart Kodi
    3. Replicate the problem
    4. Generate a log URL (do not post/upload logs to the forum)

use "Settings > LibreELEC > System > Paste system logs" or run "pastekodi" over SSH, then post the URL link
