Audio from input always on, how?

Dear all,

I´ve got a hifiberry digi I/O card, from which I want to be able to always hear the incoming audio in libreelec. I had the same question a while ago for a hifiberry DSP card, where it was very easy since this card is by default configured to allow such action. But apparently the digi I/O is not, so I guess it will need to be set up manually.

I assume the question is general aka could be applied to any device attached to the pi either via USB, or as in this case, a hat. Of course you´d need to address the correct device name in the configuration.

FYI, audio from libreelec does go out as it should, so it´s indeed seen by the system - it´s the input that needs to be configured for forwarding its signal through to the output (and not conflict with sound from libreelec, but mix with it).

Any advise?

Thanks, I´ve been reading a bit about pulseaudio and its loopback. Wouldn´t this be the way to go?

Cheers, but I would still need to somehow configure libreelec to forward the input to the output, right, or you suppose that´s done all by itself once having chosen the right entry? If so, it´s not working - nomatter the chosen output, I only get sounds from libreelec itself.

And that would be in system settings/audio as well? I´m in expert mode now, but there´s no fader there. Does it make a difference that I´m using my pc to access the configuration via x.x.x.x:8080?

I would need to unplug the hdmi frog the raspberry I´m at and plug it in to the other one, so I took a shortcut and looked at the raspberry I have connected to the TV with the hifiberry DSP card in it, and there I see no faders appearing, although the sound passes through perfectly. Anyway, time to hit the sack. I´ll try to connect the one with the digi i/o board to the monitor tomorrow.

Ok, tried looking at libreelec directly with the monitor connected to the pi, but this made no difference: No sliders/faders present.
It´s connected to another pi from the toslink output of this, which works fine with raspbian and the audio coming into Reaper.

Sorry for late reply. Yes, these settings are in place, which is also the reason why I can hear libreelecs own sound. I guess I´ll need to chat a bit more with the hifiberry guys then... Thanks!

Well, they´re telling that there´s no mixer on the board, so there´s the answer...
