mount external hdd

  • hi, I am trying to mount an external HDD through a usb hub and it does not mount. I tried formatting them as both NTFS an exFAT, but no success. I am on a Pi3 lei 9.2.1. The HDD is powered externally, and I confirmed that it is working on a windows machine. Here are the results of the commands that you usually ask for:

    blkid http://ix.io/2iX8

    mount http://ix.io/2iXq

    dmesg: http://ix.io/2iXx

    Update:

I formated as ext4 and everything worked fine. The strange thing is that my usb that is NTFS is recognized successfully...

  • EXT4 is currently the Linux default disk format, it's recommended when you permanently connect a HDD/SSD to a Linux system.
