Is 4k HDR Hevc hardware decoding supported on Rpi4?

Can't get any hardware decoding only software, (which can not keep up with 4k 10bit HEVC.)

Has latest master build "devel-20200107165839-f3c9ae9 (RPi4.arm)".

Here they say it should work without any stuff in config.txt

Little confused, what is the current status?

LE 9.2 is using the MMAL code path in Kodi which will give hardware decoding. LE master is configured for the GBM/V4L2 code path in Kodi and I'm not aware that this supports hardware decoding yet .. which matches your experience.

Tried to find where the buzz is relate to the new GBM/V4L2 code, but couldn't find where the talks and patching is going on.

I think, best is to wait for a working master implementation.

It's mostly being discussed between Pi Foundation and LE developers in our private chat, with some overspill into the Pi Foundation GitHub repo when bits of plumbing are added there and other external people notice.
