Did you check "sync playback to display" (no passthrough)?
Did you check different cables and hdmi ports on your Samsung and exactly the identical connection as your working Bluray?
How about rpi > Onkyo > Samsung TV using hdmi cables ?

When play movies with 5.1 audio, I only Hear the front left and right speakers
tested with rpi3 and rpi4 , both same problem.
Audio route: rpi->hdmi cable->samsung TV-> fibre-cable-> Onkyo Dolby-Digital Amplifier;
Settings in Kodi to 5.1 , enabling "allow passthrough" gives no sound at all
when playing from Bluray-player (also hdmi to tv and fiber from there to Alplifier) it works fine.

I have the same configuration but with components from other brands...
I have the audio settings like this and it works.
Since the TV only supports dolby digital output, I have DTS disabled in Kodi and so when the sources are in DTS it sends the dolby digital signal in it.
