CEC on H5 is known issue, I should add it in OP.
Hi all, newbie here.
I'm planing to get a Tanix TX6 (Allwinner H6) and I have some doubts, may be you can help me:
- Is s/pdif optical out working with OK with LibreElec?
- This nightly images works on bootable SD like the stable downloads or have a diferent instalation process?
Thanks in advance!

spdif is not enabled on TX6. I can't test it, so I'm not sure how easy/hard would be to add support for it.

yes, you burn image to SD card and that's it. If you want to boot from emmc, you just overwrite emmc with same image.
All in all, TX6 is not particularly good H6 device. I suggest you go with SBC instead.

I'm looking for a TV BOX with s/pdif working on LibreElec

TX6 is a nice and what's most important very affordable device, when it works. However, multiple revisions and versions complicate things a lot. I can't get the one I have (TX6-A) to output any sound via HDMI and detect the proper resolution (tried with multiple displays/TVs) without forcing an edid file. They also tend to overheat (mine doesn't even show cpufreq), due to poor airflow, upside-down board placement and tiny radiator.
Maintainer of Armbian H6 community buildssuggested "different DTB" which is not much help, since my device has the same problems both with LE and Armbian.
well, no PMIC (important for lower heat) and no gigabit ethernet I wouldn't say nice...
Does anyone know if these test images work on the orange pi pc plus and if the wifi works.
Read OP (hint, wifi doesn't work and it's crap anyway)
Hello, Jernej, Hope you are having an amazing day, I have orange pi plus 2, I have a bit of a problem, downloaded latest version, worked great, but when I try to install add ons from fusion repository for example all the add ons give xmbc python version XXX dependency not satisfied, If you please how I can fix it. Also please can you guide me if I am not distracting you how to install it the image on orange pi internal memory please. Thank You!
No help for banned repos/addons whatsoever.
I understand your concern jernej, I had fusion as an example, this week is my first ever with kodi, so sorry about any thing, But please understand this error appear also in some of the add ons in libreelec repositories and its so frustrating. Please help, Thank you for all your hard work!
This just means that addons must be updated to python3. Kodi 19 won't support Python2 anymore. So you must bug addon author. There is no way to support python2 anymore...
Hi everyone, first I want to say thanks to jernej for his amazing work on this project. After using Armbian on all of my trusty old Opi PCs for ages I decided to repurpose one of them and try LE on it. Impressions: Boot was super fast, menus are smooth, cpu runs very cool, never exceeded 53 degrees. Playback is great most of the time with some green screens here and there but the strangest thing is that video menus disappear on non 16:9 vids after some time. For example, on vids with vertical bars (4:3 ratio) portion of menus that go beyond black bars are not visible but parts of title and menu that runs over area where video is running are still there while on movies which have horizontal bars title and menus are not visible at all. Guess this is issue with lima/mesa.
Hi to all.
I'm testing LibreELEC-A20.arm-9.80-nightly-20200629-d0f7212-bananapi on my Banana Pi and there's a problem with hevc playback. Only a still image from the movie appears on the screen, the sound is played for a while, and then there is silence.
Thanks in advance to the wise members for their explanation and possible correction.

Quote- A20 doesn't support H265 (HEVC) - SoC was made before H265 was standardized (hardware limitation)

O.K.
