How to stop TV remote controlling Kodi

  • I have the ODROID C2 with LibreELEC 7.0.2

I am using a hardkernel supplied remote control, which works great however my Panasonic TV remote control is also controlling Kodi at the same time.

    So for example:
    1. I press TV on my Panasonic remote to switch to normal TV input.
    2. I use the TV remote to browse TV guide, pressing up and down keys etc
    3. I press AV on TV remote to switch back to ODROID/Kodi and see that it has also been responding to the TV remote

How can I stop the TV remote controlling the ODROID???

I have tried disabling CEC in Kodi, but that doesn't work. The ODROID is actually responding to IR signals from the TV remote anyway not through CEC. I have proved this by covering up the IR sensor on the ODROID.

    [SOLVED]
    I copied /etc/lircd/lircd.conf.amremote to /storage/.config/lirc.conf
I then removed all of the remote configurations except for the hardkernel stock remote
Rebooted and bingo the TV remote no longer controls Kodi

  • Just blacklist meson_ir. Panasonic remote is picked up by the IR sensor probably. If you want to use CEC and no IR you can backlist it.

It could be possible that it's still controlled by CEC because it's a hybrid CEC driver you need to disable it in boot.ini too.

    That doesn't make sense.
If you've covered the odroid IR receiver and your tv remote is controlling kodi it must be via cec.
