Install Bitdefender antivirus on LibreELEC

    Hello Team,

    I have no knowledge of Linux commands or aware of which version of Linux is used within LibreELEC. Reading a recent news article related to malware hidden within many addons, it made me think if I should install an antivirus on my librelec device. The product i'm trying to install is the bitdefender gravityzone for endpoints (which is for Linux distributions as well). I have no clue how this can be installed on my device.

    Installation file Bitdefender provided is with .raw extension. If this is too much of an ask, please say so :), I will understand. Thanks.

    Actually, it could be run in a container so it's possible. Addons are run as root and installed into /storage, so it might not be such a bad idea. I don't think addons are even signed, but third party is not allowed by default which is good. Personally I prefer not running such resource hogs and instead apply common sense regarding what's installed and how the box is used. LE's simplicity is it's best feature and also it's weakest point security wise.

    As for actually setting up such a Docker container and making it useful on LibreELEC, I'd say it depends on your willingness to spend some hours reading Docker documentation and trial/error until you get it right. There's no plug and play solution for this.
