Transcoding or Streaming over the web

I am starting use libre more and more as an always connected device. When I travel, I sometimes want access to all my videos.

I'm sure this is trivial, but does kodi have the ability to transcode the video over the network with limited connections.

My upload is 3mbits however a lot of my videos are recorded channels that are much higher especially hd.

Can I get libre to transcode on the fly dependant on connection quality?

Kodi does not transcode, so no.

You can make a feature request in the Kodi forums. It's not something we can do without Kodi support.

Transcoding is usually a server-side service. LE is some kind of a client, and I don't think the feature request will be successful. Have a look at Plex, if you can accept server-side transcoding.

You can use the Emby Server addon for such tasks. It works pretty awesome for that usecases.
