For me everything including 1080p streaming works fine with 1gb. The only issue so far is that I cannot wake the box using the remote but have to unplug the power.
To flash you need an blank SD card.
Put the zip on the SD card and insert the SD card in the box.
In the regular android firmware go to Apps and down the bottom open the Update&Backup.
Once in it, check Wipe Data and Wipe Media, then click select and that will allow you to select the zip from your SD card. Once selected, click Update.
The alternative is to use the toothpick method (google it) which updates directly from recovery.
Thanks a lot strobo!
I do not see the "Update&Backup" app, but I do see an "EBox OTA" where I can see all transfered ROMS, select the .zip and install. I'm guessing it is the same thing, as this is a special ROM made by EBox...(just guessing here...). Anyway, my current ROM is M8S.BCM4335.20150211025 - is it safe to try this libreelec port?
Yep, this is the version for you.
If your method doesnt work, look below is the video instr for the toothpick method. Thats also your failsafe in case the box doesnt boot on the new firmware...

the beta version of kodi 17 in this v8 worked well. I need to figure out the key map editor as my controller makes noise but can't hit enter. Has anyone updated this with a release version of kodi 17 yet? I had put this box away because I didn't think I could run kodi 17 on it

Thanks a lot! After trying for quite a few times, I've concluded that my box does not have recovery mode. This is real as you can check other people findings here: OTT M8S won't enter recovery mode?? - FreakTab.com Damn it!
EDIT: Just as an update, I did manage to re-install the one available from Latest M8S Firmware Download - EntertainmentBox which was the origianal one. Anything else seems to be impossible....

Hi Begicj,
I think your work is the version I have been searching for! But the file no longer seems to be available on OneDrive. Would you be able to send a new link? Thank you for your effort in this.

Hey there, would i be able to get a copy as well?
Thanks in advance.
Here is a link to Begicj's 8.0.0 alpha. Wifi is confirmed to work with the models of the M8S w/4335 listed on previous pages of this thread. Go read up.
I don't have the source code for this build. It's not my work. Be aware, at this point this build is getting a bit long in the tooth. It's pretty glitchy and playback can be less than desirable (watchable) at 1080p. Use at your own risk. Make sure you have your original Android ROM handy in case this ROM doesn't put a smile on your face.
