We saw it already and testing around, no promises so far. If we can make it work we add something. We are aware that this is an great feature

Interesting

I would be interested if it is not only for rPi but also for LE x86
thanks

but also for LE x86
sadly not, they hammered it into the RPi "playback chain" so no other device is working
if they just made some kind of api/service file that redirects the needed streams kodi could pick it up and it would work at millions of devices ootb

it's a shame, but thank you

Hi, is there any place I can track the progress of this?
-
now i have only chance to use kodi and steamlink together on RPI, and thats raspbian instead of libreelec
If someone use rpi as retro gaming emulator there is steamlink support in RetroPie - but retropie is not good multumedia center I am missing all-in-one solution here (retrogaming emulation, steamlink support, multimedia center and web browser in one)

I am not aware of any proper progress. Sadly they made it really hard wired to RPi for no good reason. It would be "pretty easy" to implemented into Kodi if they were just releasing some library.

For all-in-one solution it would be OSMC. It is based on raspbian so the Steam link is already working on their RPi builds. Hopefully devs of libreelec for RPi are going to find the solution soon as well. I find libreelec's support of retroplayer and Steam controller (crucial for me) a bit better than the osmc's one.

Will this "playback chain" work with the RPi 4? -

It is likely working with the old drivers that are at LE 9.2, likely not in future, maybe they do it properly at valve some day.
