Rockpro64 nightly build recently appeared but has never worked.

I recently got a RockPro64 board, which at the moment has very little software to run on it. I was pleased to see the other day that there is now a LibreElec build for the board. I've been checking test.libreelec.tv for the past few days and, yes, the nightly build is there each day. However it's always just 21MB in size and when you download and open it, it says "unexpected end of archive".

I've managed to build the image myself but I've not yet had a chance to try it. My first attempt at building it a couple of days ago met with failure.

Developer focus has been on RK3328/3268 for a while and RK3399 needs some catching up and things are known to be a bit broken in the master branch at the moment. Not sure why the file is truncated at 21MB but we'll get that cleared.

Just to follow up on this. I did manage to build the image for the RockPro64 without error, but it just refused to boot. The white LED wouldn't come on. I tried with the microSD card slot and through USB.

I noticed that the .dtb file for this image and the one for a linux image that DOES work were different, so I thought I'd copy it across and see what happened. This time the white LED did turn on, but it still refused to boot.

I noticed that through USB, it does start to read the data but then abruptly stops after a few seconds. I don't have the serial console module though so I can't see what's going on with it during boot.

^ this is the English habit of understating things a little to be polite. I'm not expecting RK3399 hardware to boot at all, and I wouldn't bother building images again until a load of pending Rockchip fixes are merged (and no, there is no timescale for this).

Yes, I did see your post. But the impatient hacker in me won't just accept "Oh, it doesn't work.". I have to try it for myself anyway. And I can now personally confirm that it indeed does not work.

The aarch64 build works fine, except H265 HW acceleration.

Is there an image for this or did you build it from source?

I tried the nightly again a couple of days back and it still gives errors and fails to open Kodi, even though it does now boot.

yep works, plays back some 4k content also. Big Buck 2160p 30fps and also tried Philips Surf 4K Demo.mp4 , more may work if you switch resolutions, but many didn't auto switch resolution, x265 does work....

I did notice one huge problem with mine. The ethernet connection is almost non-functioning. Runs at a snails pace if at all. If I plug the cable into my Windows machine the connection is perfectly. It also runs fine with the Ubuntu image on my RockPro64.

I did not have problem with ethernet. I play some movies without problem. I remove it because actually i did other tests with my rockpro64.

I found my usb wifi dongle and that worked great. I have no idea why the ethernet is so slow for me with this image.

Sorry for my poor English.

With your build, CEC isn't working for me. With the master branch of Libreelec, it works. Maybe the update rockchip-4.4 to 514d0d19?
