So I have a bunch of 4K HDR rips that all look super washed out on my non-hdr 4k tv. I'm currently running all my media through an Amlogic S912 device(beelink gt1 ultimate) on LibreELEC 8.2.4.1. Is there any easy solution to this? When it comes to windows, it's as easy as just using MPV Player, but is there anything similar for LIbreELEC? Is there an easier solution than "Just buy an HDR tv". Thanks in advance for any and all help!

It’s possible that the processing required for the files is too much for your H/W
Let's start with a debug log (See my signature) and if possible the url from "top -b - n 30 | paste" when one of the HDR files is playing.

Here's the log, I wasn't sure what you meant by "top -b - n 30 \ paste", sorry. Let me know if I need to do it again. I tried posting the log in a spoiler, but it was too long, so here's a link. Log

No current solution because the Amlogic 3.14 kernel does not handle HDR > SDR conversion and the replacement mainline kernel will not have HDMI 2.0 and HDR support for some time yet. Using Windows or "buy an HDR compatible TV" are the current best options.

The Apple TV 4K running tvOS 12.x combined with MrMC does pretty decent HDR > SDR mapping for use on non HDR - 4K TV's.
I disagree with chewitt ...
The only AMLogic S9xx SoC that does not do any HDR > SDR conversion is the original S905.
Picture color output result will never be as good vs using an actual 4K HDR TV.

wrxtasy Original S905 is what I still use as the family daily driver so I wasn't aware of S905X/D etc. doing HDR > SDR.
