No sound from Google Home. LE 8.2.5 CuboxI4, bluetooth.

  • Hi there. I trusted and connected by CuboxI4 with my Google Home Mini and no sound comes out. The speakers are directly connected to the Cubox by S/PDIF. What can i do? Thanks!

Why have you paired your speakers and then connected them via S/PDIF. Are you trying to send audio via BT or S/PDIF?

What have you set the audio output to in Kodi?

Also be aware - the TOSLINK connector on the Cubox-i needs a very small connector, "Normal" connectors may look like they are connected - but they are not - See Here

  • Hi Iridium,

Thanks for your time. Perhaps I was not clear, this is my current topology:

I DO hear from my Cubox but when i try to get Google Home pass audio via bluetooth to the Cubox and hear through the speakers, i get nothing. The speakers are connected to the Cubox via SPDIF wire that works fine.

LE in default configuration does not provide an audio sink for BT devices like Google Home to send audio "to" although since it's a BT device you can pair things. It is possible to reconfigure pulseaudio in the OS to provide the required audio sink, but then Kodi (which uses alsa unless using pulseaudio to stream audio over BT to an external speaker) will be unable to output audio via alsa over S/PDIF to the AVR/Soundbar device when playing movies etc.

  • Sry to hook in, not that technical, but it's yet not clear - do you want to achieve simultaneous output or would you want to switch outputs (would shell commands be ok)?

  • Hi guys.

I just want to play Spotify using Google Home through my speakers connected to the Cubox. Dont know if that's in, out, or whatever, haha. I'm ok with doing some console configuration and "hardwiring" this even if i wont be able to reproduce audio from other sources. This LE is primary for playing music.

    Thanks!

  • Hi!

I've been trying to solve the same thing. Pair the Google home mini with Libreelec/Kodi via Bluetooth and be able to stream music/videos there.

For speakers I have external USB DAC.

    System is RPi 3.

I have also Chromestick installed in my TV, but as see that speakers are connected to Raspberry with DAC, it has little interest for me (sound would come from TV).

One way is like described before, that making Libreelec show as Bluetooth speakers for Google home, but would there also be a better option for Kodi to show as Chromestick for Google home mini?

Any input would be appreciated :)
