LibreELEC-RR 9.x [ Emulationstation | Retroarch | Pegasus | DolphinQT | Moonlight | Chrome | Spotify ]

  • Hi 5,

Been using this build for over a year now on in my entire house, works great!

Would it be possible to add libasound2-plugin-equal to the mix?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Just put your latest stable build onto my generic pc. The version date is 20190423.

Everything works great except one thing.

When I try to launch a game cube game with emulationstation, it just returns me back to emulationstation game list.

All other systems work it just appears it isn't launching dolphin.

    Thanks

  • What’s the best hardware for this build? Does odroid C2 work well? I need hdr 4k support as well as hd audio.

    Thx.

  • Hey there again.. Got everything running great now.. just a quick question.. I have a 4k TV, and the Spotify App comes up in 4k.. which is WAY to small to be able to read... your first couple of versions would follow whatever Kodi was set to.. Kodi at 1080p, Spotify would load at 1080p..

I read that if you add

    --force-device-scale-factor=1.5

to launching Spotify it would correct this... but I can't figure it out. :(

I tried with and without KMS settings on.. same thing.

  • Hey,

Can you please tell me how I can use Spotify with premium on the raspberry pi 3 b+?

If I understand it correct, it should work?

But I can not find it.

    Thanks!

  • No Linux devices truly support HDR at this time and Kodi has only partial siupport (still work in progress). RPi4 and Intel NUCs (Gemini Lake and newer) are most likely to be best/first supported due to the higher overall levels of development in their ecosystem.

    • ...
    • added OpenBOR -> delete your es_systems.cfg & place your games with .pak extension in /storage/roms/openbor
    • ...

heisenberg I've tested OpenBOR with a BOR.pak on a Generic & RPi2 system so I assume it should work fine. I haven't tested any other fancy pak file so you might run into some issues with those /shrug

Thx a lot! Everything is working fine so far besides that I have to configure the gamepad for every game :(

I really love OpenBOR games. Can you please add ".PAK" as a file extension also? ".pak" is already there ;)

  • Hi,

For the life of me I haven't been able to get moonlight-qt to play audio on my client. It was working with moonlight-embedded.

I'm running the generic build RR-20191013-b5875c0 on an Intel NUC (MSI Cubi core i5 5005U) connected via HDMI to an AVR.

Audio works fine on Kodi and media playback, and it works fine through retroplayer and games, but nothing when opening moonlight.

I have tested moonlight on my android phone and I can stream games with audio to the phone without a problem.

Apparently my logs exceed the 1MB attachment limit - please see here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i1ii9qoia8vxibsz1icqdevl48ldrsv6/view?usp=drivesdk

Please let me know what more info I can provide.

  • So, after much sleuthing...

Don't follow this advice from the 20190522 release notes:

"added Moonlight-Qt v1.0.0 to generic builds -> just run it & should be self explanatory" (or at least don't take it literally like I did and just try to run the "moonlight-qt" binary).

I figured that Kodi was blocking the audio, and that I had to stop Kodi then run moonlight (also that I needed to use Pulse). So I went looking for how it had been done for Spotify and the emulators, and I found this:

    LibreELEC-RR/packages/5schatten/emulation/streaming/moonlight-qt/scripts at master-rr · 5schatten/LibreELEC-RR · GitHub

Which has everything setup already! Good to know.

TL;DR: run moonlight-qt by using the script /usr/bin/moonlight-qt.py

Now the last piece of the puzzle is getting the 5.1 sound to work - its selected at both ends; the PC thinks its streaming 5.1 sound because the windows sound test plays all 6 channels, but my AVR only see stereo.

Has anybody come across similar? Are there specific Pulse audio settings that I need to setup to use 5.1 channels on HDMI?

  • With any of the last nightlies, maybe the last ones containing mupen64plus updates, you changed the name of the script to launch the games from m64p.start to mupen64plus.start, so the spoiler in the initial post of the is not correct anymore. I realized it today launching one N64 game and ES returned to the list of games. So I verified the script through SSH and found the name has changed. So I changed the command to launch the games and tomorrow I'll give it a try, but I think it should be okay.

One question about N64 emulators: with the last updates of your distro, is it better mupen64plus standalone or the retroarch N64 core? With the previous versions of the distro, for my setup, it was better mupen64plus standalone. Thank you

Apparently by default PulseAudio won't use surround channels. So I added a custom PulseAudio config

    vi /storage/.config/pulse-daemon.conf.d/custom.conf

    and add:

    default-sample-channels=6

OK, next question, I can't get my PS4 controller to work at all on bluetooth. I can get it paired, but no button presses work. This GitHub - chrippa/ds4drv: A Sony DualShock 4 userspace driver for Linux seems to be a recommendation, and looking at LibreELEC-RR/packages/5schatten/service/ds4drv/system.d at master-rr · 5schatten/LibreELEC-RR · GitHub it seems to be there, but I am unable to get the service to start.

Does anyone else use ds4drv with their PS4 controllers?
