LibreELEC build's aren't official for the Rock, and the development ones are laggy, buggy, and unstable.
At the point where the lead developers for RK hardware think it's ready we'll release something. Until then you're running a known-to-be unfinished work. We expect the codebase to have bugs. You should expect them too.

I'll be honest, I went through what you did. The Rock64, honestly, is a failure. A huge majority of the operating systems made for the Rock haven't been developed for since ~Oct. 2017.

Don't get impatient with SBC hardware not having a fully working OS.
The reason they are cheap is they are development boards.
I use the android-7.1-rock-64-rock64_atv-v0.3.13-r115-raw.img which is very stable on eMMC.
I test the LE nightlies SD Card and yes they are unstable
BUT the picture quality on my 1080p TV is absolutely amazing compared to any Amlogic device i have ever owned.
