Just acquired a nice shiny HP Touchsmart and thought that a touchscreen and LibreELEC might be fun, but
I install and all I get is the following screen and it just reboots..
Any help or suggestions?

If it's the latest generation of Intel CPU you will probably need a Milhouse 9.0 nightly to boot it.

Core 2 Duo, probably 5-10 years old and I can only see .tar versions, I think "!" I would need an image to install?
32-bit or 64-bit CPU?
64 bit, I have been testing and installed a clean windows 7 and windows 10, so I know the hardware etc is ok
There does appear to be some red lettering FAILED showing up in the haze of the screen, but unable to determine how and where
It sounds like the install was successful (even if no video) so you can probably access the logfiles samba share to grab logs and see if there are any clues present. The red failed text is probably Xorg failing to start, which usually indicates a GPU driver issue.
Bugger, didn't realise it was so long since I looked at this, yeah I can make out the wording and it is the failed of xorg,is there any edit I can do to the install files?
The machine never appears to get up and running so I am unable to get ssh working or the likes
Cheers
You can add "ssh" to kernel boot params to force the daemon to start, or use CTRL+ALT+F3 to access the local console. If the GPU is not supported you can confirm the issue but there's nothing to fix.
