Libhybris Wifi workaround for Mecool M8Spro + possible ?

  • As already said there is no Wifi driver for the Mecool m8s pro+

A lot of people bought this device.

Is it possible to get a workaroud with libhybris?

Like the GPU driver workaround for S912 devices using the android driver?

  • ok

    I have just bought a combi Wifi/Bluetooth stick : Called Edimax EW-7611ULB

It has a Realtek 8188ce chip.

But it is not recognized from libreelec. Neither Wifi nor bluetooth

Can I add drivers for it ?

  • oh sh.. No I can´t

do you mean something like this : GitHub - tianon/linux-rtlwifi-8188ce: A mirror of the "official" Realtek kernel module for the 8188CE (and others) - note that this driver is really no better or worse than the one directly in-kernel, since the driver can't fix horrid hardware. This also probably doesn't compile properly on newer kernels.

I´m not a developer, not enough knowledge

Is there a combi wifi/Bluetooth USB stick working with libreelec ?

My hope was that sticks with RTL8188 chips would work out of the box..

  • bylderup Are you sure that your dongle is 8818CE? As far as I know this would mean that it's a PCI-E card, which it obviously isn't. I Googled a bit and it looks like it may be 8723BU. Please post a result of lsusb -v with the dongle inserted.

  • No - I am not shure because that was the Information when I had plugged it in my Win7 laptop.

    lsusb - says :

no wifi and no bluetooth in libreelec config tool

a working Combi Wifi/bluetooth dongle would be nice because most of the tv boxes have only 2 USB slots .

edit : Your are right - it is 8723BU. My fault - Windows laptop info was wrong.. See : Install it on Raspberry Pi
