Just something to think about:
If you have a problem with reading your HDD, please say so in your topic title.
Don't put in a useless text, especially when 'serial' has nothing to do with it.
Adding exclamation marks also does not help. We'll try to help everyone here.
blkid | pastebinitConnect your HDD, and reboot your Kodi device.
Then give the result of the about command, as I don't see any HDD's in the mount listing.
Then set up your boot order properly in the BIOS.
Plug in your HDD after Kodi has started, and do the blkid command.

Seems more to be a thing Grimson mentioned...but whatever....the goal is, that it works 
You can't beside the way you add it on your own by cloning from github and add what you need and then compile yourself. Which will last some hours (depending on your hardware you use for compiling).
I thought you already got it working by providing that:

That is your USB HDD. So I don't see a problem anymore.
Then use USB 2.0 for that drive...problem solved.
