  • Any solutions to the DTS-HD and Dolby TrueHD passthrough issue? I have a S905x box that passes through the HD formats just fine using the latest Libreelec (LibreELEC-S905.arm-8.2-8.2.3.1), but not with OpenPHT.

did u found a solution im having the same issue

  • Hey, Ive had a recurring issue - I am logged into PHT and all my media folders are visible on screen and then suddenly connection is lost to the server and only search and watch online are repeated down the screen. It is still signed in and restarting the box makes all the media folders reappear. I have tried different versions of PMS, different operating systems on the servers, different server hosting companies - I have tried OpenPHT on 1gb s905 boxes, 2gb s905 boxes and Raspberry Pis - the problem keeps recurring. Sometimes once an hour, sometimes it will go 2 days and not happen.

Anyone have any thoughts cos it is driving me mad.

  • A hail Mary...

I am happily running OpenPHT 1.8/1.9 on a cheap Chinese S905. connected to a USB DAC.

I'd like run play some DSD128 over PCM (DoP), and that requires a PCM bitrate of 384000.

The Kodi that OpenPHT is based on is limited to 192000.

As per threads like http://post/ a patch to Kodi was made to simply allow the maximum bitrate selectable in the GUI to be up to 384000.

Unfortunately this change was never back-ported to OpenPHT. I was able to modify the strings.po file by modifying the SYSTEM.IMG squeezefs but the settings.xml is used during compilation (I think) and not part of OpenPHT as released.

Does anyone have a S905 compiled version of OpenPHT that can do 384KHz?

I'm also happy to compile OpenPHT with the patches but am unsure how to do this. Is anyone aware of how to compile OpenPHT for amlogic?

    Many thanks

  • I use OpenPHT for S905W - an interesting thing happens. With some televisions, when I plug in the box it is just a black screen. I must remove the SD card and let it boot into Android first.... then replace the card, restart the box, and it works fine, loading into OpenPHT

It is as if loading into android sets something on the box to do with resolution or drivers or something. No apparent common factor between the televisions.

Any thoughts on why it does this? And What to change so that I dont need to do this?

  • I have zero knowledge of OpenPHT and Kwiboo is not active these days to ask, but an S905W box will be booting from Amlogic "vendor" u-boot which has an environment where persistent settings can be stored and if booting something based on the older Amlogic 3.14 kernel it is possible to write/change settings from userspace, so you can do things which change settings (without knowing) and the reboot into Android can equally reset things to good defaults again.
