I want a RPi for streaming of TV channels.
Is a RPi good enough? Will it be sluggish going from menu to menu? Can the stream be played fine at 720p or 1080p?
First..."a" RPi is not very specific. Your thread title asks about RPi Zero W which might not be powerfull enough. A RPi2/3 might be better in all regards.
1080p shouldn' be a problem for the RPi 0w, but I'm not sure if it comes to live-tv streaming. And not sure how good the wifi module really is
Is it expected that the current status can continue for future versions of the software?
What? Do you mean if it works now, will it work for a later LibreELEC version? Are you really asking us if your RPi will still be supported in, say, 10 years?
Can I command the OpenELEC Kodi with a cheap universal remote control? Are there a recommended setup guide for this?
sure....it might depend on what kind of hardware you are running OpenELEC. But...this isn't an OpenELEC forum. If you have question related to OpenELEC, please visit: OpenELEC Mediacenter - Home

Which screensaver is it?

debug log, please

I also would recommend Yatse:
details?id=org.leetzone.android.yatsewidgetfree&hl=de
That is what I'm using. The free version is pretty flexible and you don't need to pay anything. I use the paid version with all options available. I don't really need all those options, but I thought about this payment as a kind of a donation for the dev who does a great work.
So if you aren't satisfied with Kore, then Yatse might be worth a look.

So if I get that correctly you want that "LibreELEC Dev Updater" to be used with the images kszaq provides.
Just looking at the FAQ:
QuoteCan I use a URL other than those provided? Yes, an additional custom URL can be configured in the add-on settings.
And that doesn't help you?

Correct.
Webinterfaces don't "start" inside Kodi like the Youtube-Add-on for example.
Like it's being said, you have to enter the service settings:
And then the control-section:
Inside that section you will see an option which is called "Web interface". At that option you are able to choose which Webinterface you want to use and Kodi will start that service for you. But that's not directly visible. Only if you connect from a browser to the IP of you Kodi machine.
If it's the same PC (so browser and Kodi on the same PC), you are also able to enter: 127.0.0.1:8080
at your browser. As 127.0.0.1 is always your local host. the "8080" is the port which is specified for the webserver. if you change that in the settings, you need to connect to that port.
if it's another PC you have to check the network section of the system info to get your internal IP of that Kodi machine and then connect to that.

That doesn´t help at all. Not using something that was working before won't fix an potentially issue.

please provide a full debuglog

Installed the latest version of LibreELEC.
"Latest" is not a version number
I can install addons, but not possible to start any of them
Which addon are you referring to? Please name them. As none of the add-ons I know of has a "start" button". Probably you mean "open" and if that's greyed out, you probably need to enable that add-on. Depending on which kind of add-on we are talking about. Hence the question which add-on it is.

Let's continue here. Could you post a screenshot and mark the section you want to remove/delete? Not sure if we both mean the same
-
We might at least need a debug log

What I always find most helpful is to set a skin into debug-mode. That can be done by ssh-ing in and do:
After that you will see a little overlayed note at the top left of the skin you are using and it will show you which XML-file is actually in use on the activated Window. The "Main Menu" is the Home.xml for Estuary and that is the file you need to edit.
The list for Estuary is a "fixed list" with the ID of "9000". See:
skin.estuary/Home.xml at master · phil65/skin.estuary · GitHub
So, that then should be the 'content' of that fixed list:
skin.estuary/Home.xml at master · phil65/skin.estuary · GitHub
You will see some labels like: $LOCALIZE[342]....that's a placeholder for a string. So you have to determine in the strings.po file which String is in use for which '$LOCALIZE[some_number]' and change the complete ordering for it. You might have to reorder complete sections to keep everything working.
Hope that helps.

Topic is solved as the user is crossposting on german kodinerds forum.

You could also try a milhouse nightly for a test and see if that fixes something. I have a lot of DVD ISOs with menu and they all play fine for me on Krypton. So we can't reproduce this issue and it would really be interesting if a Kodi 18 version will fix things for you.
You could also mention some DVDs (the moviename itself) and I will buy one, to see if I can reproduce it. Same region assumed.

I like fritschs <200€ theory. Everything which costs over 200€ is not worth a buy because it's already outdated at the end of the actual year
I bought some intel Haswell about 3 years ago (IIRC) and it sill fits my needs.
