    If the add-ons is the biggest issue, You can just take a copy of ' /userdata/addon_data' folder to safe location.

    Re-install, copy folder above back to it's location, install back add-on's You need and You're done...

    You might have to restart after installing add-ons before those re-read configs but that works every time.

    Is there a way to wakeup LE8 based player from sleep (suspend state)?
    I can't get any of scheduled jobs to run when it goes to 'sleep'
    Tried with few different cron-jobs but no luck...

    I just updated to V8 as well on two machines (manual update from the LibreELEC menu). The first one (Intel NUC) looped during migrating databases. After deleting the Addons27.db and power off/power on it finally booted, but the system says my libraries are empty (I am using a mySQL database for several machines). I see my sources and contents, but obviously there isn't any connect to the SQL DB any more.

    The second upgrade fulfilled without any loop, but the same result. All libraries are empty. How can I re-connect to the SQL DB?

    For me the solution was "Wait for nerwork" (30 sec).

    I'm in a similar boat. I run open elec 6 (Kodi 15.2). Can I update my open elec to the latest libreelec directly, or should I update to openelec 7 first, then to libreelec?

    The safe way:
    Backup Your device (Build in and/or Kodi add-on) copy the backup file outside Your box (USB or external storage)
    Update to latest stable LE 7 release (drop the correct file in .update folder and restart)

    Wait a week or two (I just speculate here...), the LE 8 is just around the corner, brand new and shiny! :cool:
    Then You should be able to update to latest release from within Kodi!

    Agree on colour... But mine is hidden anyway so it really doesn't bother me.
    I'm quite sure it's HDMI 1.4a but in my case that's not an issue.
    IMHO it's a pretty good deal.

    [EDIT]
    CNXSoft has the (HDMI) specs ;

    Just finished installing LE 7.95.3 on my Apollo Lake based "Voyo 'VMac' MiniPC"

    Installed in internal 32GB eMMC using these instructions by CNXSoft without any hassle.
    (Dual boot LibreELEC <-> Win10)
    Only "issue" was that I had to add 30sec. 'wait for network' delay or it started too quickly... :cool:

    So far (2 days of playing around, installng and configuring add-ons) I havent found any issues.
    Playback seems to be just fine, it plays everything I throw in...

    Unfortunately I'm not able to do any deeper tests, my NAS went 'foobar' and according to disc recovery status there is still approx +400 hrs left about rebuild/resync. :cry:
    (2 new 3TB disks will be ordered today and entire 4-drive RAID5 will be rebuilt and data restored from external backup ASAP!)

    DB sharing with 2 RPI's works out of the box (using identical 'advancedsettings.xml') on all players.

    AFAIK there is no way to use external keyboard with national characters (like nordic chars: åäöÅÄÖ), it's US layout only.
    These still appear on the OSC, but not handled by physical keyboard.
    This seems to apply to all Raspberry versions, regardless of OpenElec/LibreElec settings.

    IS this fixable? No idea, I gave up this question a while ago since I never got any answer understandable for a 'non Linux user', just some technical mumbo-jumbo... ;)

    Hi,

    I migrate from Openelec 6 to Libreelec 7 yesterday with the plugin XBMC Backup (The folder updata doesn't work..)
    So everything was ok except an addon for my domotic.

    If i install this addon, it works.
    If i reboot my libreelec, it doesn't work... i have to install it again :huh:

    I don't know what is the problem, because it is a service addon, so it works at libreelec boot, no?

    Here the package in attachment
    If someone could help me, he will be great :)

    Backup/restore issues are reported from few users at Kodi forum: [Release] Backup (formally XBMC Backup)
    [hr]
    @Klojum:
    "There is no need for the XBMC Backup plugin, OE and LibreELEC have a good and working backup/restore tool built-in."

    Actually I have to somewhat disagree on that:
    - You can choose where the backup is stored (local, NAS, Cloud, ...)
    - "Easily" configured backup schedule
    - Quite easy to manually restore single files
    AFAIK these options are not possible with built in backup (I might be totally wrong here?).
