it doesn’t always work. I had the same situation as you and I had to do a fresh install on my SD card. I can’t comment on an internal install.

I get this problem when I try to update to CoreELEC-S905.arm-8.90.0.tar from kszaq's 8.2.3.1
While installing

I can't access to the logs because device is not booting.I have the backup of 8.2.3.1, so I can restore it and check if there's anything wrong with it.
You have to do a fresh install. Kszaq's device trees are not compatible with CoreElec, that's why you get that error. Restore your back up afterwards.

I just noticed the default refresh rate on CoreElec is 24. I seem to remember that it used to be 60. Is this something to do with the new build?
-
Could you elaborate on makes / models that you've had success with? I'm looking for 2 to replace the sub standard IR remotes that come with these cheap boxes. Thanks.
I use a mini wireless keyboard. Many different types are available through on-line sellers.

Has it been said that the new SSH password is "coreelec"
Shoog
still “libreelec”

GDPR-2 The Coolest Has auto update been enabled yet?

I prefer the CE/LE built-in (if only because it doesn't require any other addons). The choice is yours, both of them just copy /storage/.kodi and some other key folders
The CE one makes a complete carbon copy of your setup, whereas the Kodi one only copies key folders.

Everyone is aware the new implementation for remotes is not perfect, but this is how it will be from now on.
Read the remote thread and look for suggestions on how to improve it, or just buy an RF remote, they're like $10.Everyone is aware the new implementation for remotes is not perfect, but this is how it will be from now on.

I know I can download it from the link adamg provided. I already have downloaded the file and Netfliux works ok.
But I want to know where I can download future versions of libwidevine, maybe something will change in the future,
so a new version will be required.
Edit:
I see, that the Amazon VOD addon comes with inputstreamhelper (as you mentioned before), so I started again from scratch to test this.
I removed /storage/.kodi/cdm, installed Amazon VOD and Netflix-addon it. Then I configured and invoked Netflix.
-> Netflix movie does not play, no directory /storage/.kodi/cdm was created.
Then I found the solution:
To create the cdm-dir with libwidevine files I have to login with an Amazon VOD-account first.
inputstreamhelper-addon only works with Amazon VOS-addon, not with Netflix only.
That was my misinterpretation.
I have only a Netflix-account, no Amazon VOD-account. So I borrowed a Amazon-VOD account from my daughter
and voila - the 1.9GB Chrom image was downloaded and libwidevine was extracted.
The usage of wget getwidevine.sh, which is referenced in many forums delivered only an
outdated libwidevine for ARM-boxes.
Hope that helps other users...
What repo did you use for Amazon?
-
The version of widevine in that script is old and will not work. This version however does MEGA
I am assuming this would install like a regular addon would?
-
Sandmann's Amazon addons should have the inputstream/widevine installation/update automated.
Where can I find this addon?
-
See the post above...
I think part of my post got cut off. I have the Netflix Addon, but don’t know where to get that latest libwidevine.so.
-
I can't speak for the LE build but it works fine on mine with the latest version from GitHub and the latest libwidevine.so, tested yesterday.
ok, I am going to bite. Where do I get this “ libwidevine.so“ thingy from😀

Anyone try the latest devel bulilds with Netflix or Plex? In my case, Netflix looks like its starting to play a program then I get an error message and Plex just has the three dots and doesn't connect.
-
For LE 8.9.x Leia - kszaq has already done the hard work for you, this PR:
https://github.com/LibreELEC/LibreELEC.tv/pull/2512
You may even find software decoded 720p Netflix will playback on S912's without stuttering. I have not tested that tho.
it would be nice to also have a Netflix fix for 905.
-
It has a fix for delayed video after audio starts. That's the only difference.
Downgrading/Upgrading will work if installed to internal only with devel image
If you are installed to external any image will be okay.
Downgraded to 8.2.4 on external. Just wanted to report all worked fine.
-
Yes, the devel should support upgrading.
But I'm not sure about downgrading, I don't think it will work. Best to ask adamg about this.
Just noticed a new devel build popped up today April l. Has anyone tried it yet and could comment? The Coolest GDPR-1
-
Yes, you'll have to restore your box.
The next release should not have this issue anymore, though, and upgrades from older versions *should* work fine. (as long as it's not too old, like 7.x)
Is this in the current dev build? Would it also work in downgrading to the 8.2 builds as well?
