Only limited amount of testing so far, but so far so good. Coming back from sleep or tv off, CEC has worked.
Previously, kodi/libreelec was coming back from sleep but CEC just wasnt kicking in sometime. It took input change or switch CEC on/off via tv.
One thing that is still a bit different, looking at tv UI for simplink aka CEC it still comes back from sleep and is indentified as 'unknown device' then comes back to 'KODI'. Back on 7.0.1 it was always 'KODI' on tv UI, didnt go through 'unknown device' > 'kodi'. No fuss, if it works, it works but it just must operate in different ways now.
Hi Wonderlei...might be a good move to report issues on the fix thread hopefully next version would be better but already good news...try to enable debug logging for cec adaptor and save a log before you post..here is the thread on github Kodi Wake up from tv doesn't work #309

Its not 4.0.3, at least officially. I can do it only for Rpi2 platform, other would take me loooong time, and I dont have so big disk to store all cache for more platforms.
Here is Rpi2, for those who want to test it: LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.0.1_fixed_cec_commit_3953f8d.tar (138.43MB) -
I compiled 7.0.3 with libcec 4.0.1 by myself.
Agree with your point, and thanks for dig and pinpoint that
Are you able to compile 8.0.1 with cec 4.0.3....don't know where to start from as never tryed...code is on github already fixed by opdenkamp fixed code : Pulse-Eight/libcec

Hi,
can confirm that this is libcec related problem. I see exact same behauviour on Rpi2 + Panasonic TV and LE 7.0.3 with libcec 4.0.1.
But anyway, the misbehaviour with AVR on the way between Rpi2 - TV makes me stop using CEC on this setup. Now I using Lirc, IR remote + IR sensor on Rpi2 GPIO and couldnt be happier
Finally everything works in every condition, every HDMI, doesnt matter if TV is powered off from TV source active, or Kodi source active. Doesnt matter on switching TV's HDMI input. Doesnt matter on screensaver or not. Highly recommended for those, whose fighting with more CEC devices on one bus and not-so-working libCEC menu in LE.
On simple setup Rpi2->TV libcec 3.0.1 works just fine.
Libreelec 7.0.3 doesnt use libcec 4.0.1 but 3.0.1.....Libcec 4.0.1 is the updated cec in LE 8.0.0 and above which is having the issue of CEC not able to wake up Kodi..or it's not able to disable screensaver when you wake up the tv or change hdmi input to kodi...
Well the important part is that a solution has been found and should be fixed in Libcec 4.0.3...Kodi Wake up from tv doesn't work #309 -
I m not using a nuc..I m using a rpi2..but have issues similar to yours..rpi's dont have suspend option by default...as there is no support to wake it up...they just go on a kind of standby dimmed screen saver..and that s where cec is failing..on 7.0.3 it used to wake up when I Change hdmi input to kodi or just after kodi entering stanby and pressing a key on my philips tv remote...quick fix was to wake up kodi with a network remote such as Music Pump,Yatse or Kore trough android tablet...but had enough of this and went back to 7.0.3..which is working flawless..On a positive note cec 4.0.1 in LE 8 I managed to use the repeat keypress for the first time as it never worked before on official release..only on millhouse...I mean when you keep a button on the remote pressed and kodi keep getting cec signals...

No luck at all, I think next on my list will be a format/re-install unless anyone has another idea?Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dont think a format will change anything unfortunately...wish there is a way I can try LE 8.0.1 with Cec 3.0Sent from my SM-T280 using Tapatalk

Did you have any success with this?
-
I think its something to do with the cec adaptor...the last that worked for me was libCEC 3.0.1 firmware version 1...after that it never worked properly again...you might be on libcec 4 with krypton..

What s going on then?

Might be the same issue on my rpi on krypton...if it is its something to do with cec not that your box is freezing but not communicating with cec commands from tv...try to install kore apk on android phone and it should wake it up...im still on jarvis cause of this

Ok. I tested the “Reload – Save settings and reload Xonfluence” button which can be found on the Skin Reset option under “Skin Settings – Skin Reset”. I changed a skin setting, used that button, and I used the Home button on the Firestick Remote (a hard exit). My settings were saved. That’s wonderful. Now allow me to explain a few things:1. The Power button exit on the Xonfluence skin still has a bug that does not allow users to properly exit the Kodi program with the Firestick remote. In my solutions, I provided a method of adding an Exit option under System that will allow them to exit Kodi properly and it appears to save the skin settings as well.
2. A developer’s perspective on user friendliness is always different from a user’s perspective. Developer’s rarely care how user friendly the software is. They will often roll their eyes when confronted with a simple change that would make things a little easier or more obvious. It takes a while to gain the respect of software developers because they are smart people and they have no patience for stupidity.
3. When users navigate to the Skin Reset option, there is one thing that jumps out at you: A big red triangle with an exclamation mark in the center. Right under it, it states “Warning…” My point is that a new user or even the average user will navigate to the Skin Reset option and a big warning sign will jump in front of them and they would be concerned that all of their changes will be reset to default if they go anywhere near that option. The save option button at the top of the screen is overshadowed (hidden from sight almost) by the big warning sign. I know…it’s obvious to YOU that a save option is on that screen somewhere because you are clearly familiar with the Xonfluence skin but it will not be obvious to the average user or a new user. This is merely a user friendliness issue that developers sometimes don’t think about. Why have a button buried somewhere when the saving function can be “hard coded” to save your changes as soon as you exit the Skin Settings screen?
4. Your statement “It is a known fact that Kodi doesn’t read xml’s…” is nothing more than gibberish (like a foreign language) to the average user. The average user has no idea what an xml is, what it does, and most importantly…they don’t care. The average user wants a user friendly application that allows them to do stuff. That’s it.
In any event, thank you so much for the Save Settings button tip...again it was not obvious and (as you could see) it took a while before someone provided that answer.
Well in the Kodi world I bet every single person that have been using kodi for more then a month knows what editing xml is...so make sure you have notepad++ handy as you r gonna need it...Regarding buried settings it's not only a skin issue...they are all around kodi and even after 5 years I m still looking for simple settings around kodi....some don't even exist and that's when you need to create them yourself by editing xml...
Have a look here regarding xonfluence...it's a good skin tough still few bugs with krypton Xonfluence (Jarvis v16.x & Krypton v17.x)
[hr]No sir. I have not. I'm not sure if the libreelec OS is compatible with any of the devices I have used so far. I actually just deduced the Xonfluence Power option is a Firestick Android OS issue last night when I loaded it on my phone.
If you have a usb stick you can try it on your Pc

ROFL
Well even windows a multi million company needs restarts lol
-
Integrated with Xonfluence you have a setting to save changes....it's in skin settings, skin reset,reload-save settings..it's a known fact that kodi doesnt always read editing of xmls before a restart especially changes in sources,wakeonlan..advanced settings and so on...we live with them and dont bother me...

I dont have a pi zero..but I had that issue few times..and by editing sources.xml manually always solved the issue
[hr]
Also share the shared folder with everyone
[hr]
And I m not using krypton anymore...too many issues for my need.. i m sticking to libreelec 7.0.3 on my rpi and openelec on my downloading server...and upnp with a windows 10 pc
[hr]
Also if you need to wake up the shared folder machine with your zero always use ip for smb not name as it doesnt work

Sorry missed your post...if when you add source manually it doesn't work still...it might be an issue with the shared machine....either nothing is shared or not shared properly...make sure you go to properties -security and add everyone to your shared folder

It s happening to me on windows 10....can,t see my 2 openelec and libreelec devices from kodi...have to add manually and it works fine...so it s not an issue of network or smb settings..
[hr]
I m assuming that you enabled samba on libreelec? -
Anyone heard anything about any fixes since?

I have a similar problem: often time and date reset to 1-1-2015/2:00 (I assume time is GMT+2, my time zone).Network is already set as Mario77 advised and "wait for network" is enabled. I use a wired powerline connection.
You have to set ntp servers from the Connections menu not Network menu
