Since yesterday when switching to my RaspberryPi 3 connecting into HDMI port 2 (running 8.0.2), the TV no longer detects this as a device it can control.
Sunday it was working without an issue. I update to 8.1.0 and it remains the same.
I'm not really sure what I can do to resolve and what may have changed since Sunday, would libcec have been updated for any reason?
The TV now also gets confused and switch to input 1 and name that Kodi (input 1 is a PIoneer bluray player). HMDI 2 is named VIDEOCORE (it always is, then it used to detect kodi and name itself to that).
What can I attempt to resolve? We'll use an App, but the TV remote is so much easier
I saw this thread Wake from suspend (CEC) but I dont think it applies to me, things have been working fine since 7
Don't think it's the same issue if it was working fine..I would start by resetting cec settings and restart with other tv connected devices unplugged..

You can delete it from File manager or better off just rename it..It is located in /storage/.config
You might need to enable show hidden files in Kodi

Because libcec version is still the same.
Should I build "my" version again... Sure. Building... Available in next few hours (or in a day).
Yes Please...would be great...Felt bad to ask but now that you offered lol...

Cec still doesn't work in 8.1.0 ..

Just rename samba.conf to samba.disabled before rebooting, then it's easier to compare and make changes to the new samba4 template
Yeah that works fine without the old samba.conf I can access Libreelec again as usual..
Now waiting for the long awaited Cec fix
thanks

Ok..should I be able to access Libreelec from Windows by default in file explorer if I delete samba.config before updating or do I need to do something else?
-
If your using anonymous access (ie. no username/ppasswor and "Everyone" granted access to the Windows share) then this is no longer working as Microsoft have disabled anonymous remote access for SMB shares. You'll now need to create a user with password on the Windows machine, assign the user to the share, then access the share in Kodi via Video > Files which should prompt you for a username/password - enter the username and password of the Windows user, tick the "Remember" box (to save the username/password in passwords.xml) and you should now be able to access the share.
That is exactly what I'm using...so this setting in local policies is no more valid in windows 10 connecting to libreelec "Network access: Let Everyone permissions apply to anonymous users"
Ok got it...clear enough ...and no I don't use a password to log in my Pc...so adding user and password protect should do the trick and leave main account with no password...
Now I still don't understand how to access Libreelec from windows 10..
I do have a customized samba.config..just added few lines to access Storage without having to login Winscp samba.conf.txt
Do you think that's the culprit? Is the samba.config enabled in 8.1.0 or sample?
Now I can't look cause I m back on 8.0.2 cause I cant use 8.1 anyway as Cec is still the same for me...but should be trying it soon hopefully someone will compile and share a rpi2 version with working CEC...

Same here...went back to 8.0.2 for now..Cannot access Libreelec from Windows 10 and Windows 10 from Libreelec..
CEC still broken in 8.1.0..no wakeup from screensaver or on TV turn on..
Watching...

Hi Gar
I should have explained why I said that. If your storage is on an SD card constantly updating a log file can shorten the life of the card, though I guess just the one file a few times a day won't have much impact. Mine is stored on a RAID array on a server so it isn't an issue for me.
No, no resistance. I connected the fan to +5v and the collector, emitter to GND, GPIO pin to base. (I think that's right, got it the wrong way round when I first typed it.)
Hi Gary..just to let you know that I got the fan and connected and all is working fine..just playing with the min and max temperatures...just not sure if the fan got to be facing in or out..going to be screwed in the top cover...

I m assuming and I might be wrong that TigerVNC is sending picture frames to the PC that's why it looks like it's flickering...you might play a bit with settings perhaps there is a setting you can increase the frames it sends but it might slow up your system..
-
Or why don't you try something like Chorus...it gives you a Kodi GUI on your PC...you can control kodi and play locally on kodi or on your PC without the need of setting up a server if you are after something to use at home...then if you want to access from outside your network you ll need something like Emby...I prefer Plex from Emby to be honest but they both do the job..

"libreelec" is the password! ...

It's a cec issue which is being worked on but..I asked you what hardware you r using cause there is a Libreelec version with fixed cec but it's for raspberry pi...sorry not sure about generic Libreelec
-
I have a NUC so can't use that version. My problem is that KODI refuses to start via CEC Wakeup (my sony tv, sync menu). So updating the libcec might be worth a shot :o)
Yeah..that was the same issue even with Rpi..and this solved my problem..I m using Philips Tv tough...and not all Tv's will have the issue...some do,some don't..
Sorry but I don't know where to start from to compile myself but I asked for help on this thread and found help from the 2 people I mentioned..they done the Rpi versions of Libreelec but they might help you too ...wake-from-suspend-cec/
-
Don't think it's that easy to update Cec...you might need to know how to compile Libreelec...
If you are using a Rpi 2 download this one LibreELEC-RPi2.arm-8.0.2-libcec-3953f8d ..thanks to vpeter and JimmySmith for their time...

While your harddrive is connected to your Nuc go to your PC on same network and click here ...Accessing LibreELEC
You should see all your connected Hdd's there and move or copy between Hdd's or from pc to NUc..
When you r ready go on your Nuc Libreelec and add videos to library by going to videos-video files and set content to the folders of your hdd's...i.e movies or tv shows..
