So Lanczos3 optimized performs better on Windows? It's quite possible that Windows GPU driver performs better than Mesa driver on that ancient Sandy Bridge iGPU.

You can also try Generic-Legacy LE image and Generic LE 13 nightly, maybe you'll get better results.

Sorry I may have not explained it correctly. The Lanczos3 Optimized worked on LE, In regards to Windows it was a fresh install with scaling set to auto and it played fine without any changes and i didn't dig into it any further as it was working and my GF was on vacation at home relaxing and had full control of the remote. :D

Select a different scaling method, eg. Bilinear

Only one i could find that was usable and ok quality was Lanzos 3 optimized but if i set that as default then all other videos are unwatchable. Is there a way to change the scaling via remote instead of going into the settings each time to change it? I love LE but it's going to be a hard sell to the technologically illiterate gf. :D

Latest Omega Kodi version with a PC Core i3 2100, a ssd and 8gb of ram and jittery playback of HEVC 1080P 10bit on a tv with support for 720p only. 720p HEVC 10bit plays fine it's just the 1080p clips that don't. I know there's no hardware decoding support on this cpu but it's only at 25-35% for 1080p and 20-25% for 720p. I cleaned installed libreelec and tried it from a bare fresh install and had the same problem. So i installed windows and there was no problems with 1080p at all so the cpu can handle it no problem even with windows being much heavier than LE. I'm assuming it's an issue with LE/kodi and the scaling down of 1080p HEVC 10bit (8bit plays fine) to tv display of 720p. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated because the idea of running windows instead of LE makes me want to puke.

One ugly hack is to get things configured as you want, then shutdown Kodi from the console and copy /storage/.kodi/userdata/guisettings.xml to a location like /storage/.config and then use the /storage/.config/autostart.sh script (which doesn't exist unless you create it) to copy them back to /storage/.kodi/userdata on each startup. This forces known-good settings to be used instead of the probably corrupted settings that weren't saved correctly on shutdown.

Thank you, I think that is what I will do. I don't ever change the settings once they are set so this will work fine.

Tried two USB's but they were both the same kind. Will try a new one soon.

I"m not using the live boot option, LE is install on a thumb drive the same as it would be on a reg sata hard drive. Not all settings get wiped out just the ones i mentioned above. All my libraries, sources, addons, custom keyboard.xml etc is all still there. Only happens on a power down, if i just do a restart it starts up fine and no problems.

I have Libreelec running on a HTPC made from a PC. If i install LE on the sata hard drive I have no problems. However if i install it on a USB thumb drive after every power off while i'm at work it reverts back to the default skin and other settings such as video calibration, time zone, subtitles settings and audio also reset. The same install on a sata hard drive doesn't do this. /shrug I know i can just run the hard drive instead of USB but its in my bedroom and the drive is loud. lol

Hi all, I switched from Kodi Windows to Libreelec and so far the switch has been good except for one issue. I have a MCE Remote and when changing volume when running windows if i hold down on the volume button it would quickly move the volume how ever on libreelec when i hold down the vol button there is quite a delay before it starts changing the vol level. Is there a way to change this? Thank you for any help you can provide.
